Marleta Poffenberger, DVM
Originally from Maryland - attended University of Maryland and Virginia – Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine – moved to Washington, N.C. upon graduation from vet school in 1985 and began her career at Pamlico Animal Hospital. She has been with the practice since 1985. Dr. Poffenberger is married and has two sons, a daughter, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, and a new grandson. "Dr. P" has too many pets to list in this space!

Amy Martin, DVM
Born and raised in Washington, North Carolina. She received her BS in Animal Science from North Carolina State University in 2005, and her DVM from Texas A&M University in 2009. After veterinary school, Dr. Martin returned to eastern North Carolina. She was an equine vet with Greenville Mobile Equine Service for three years before joining Pamlico Animal Hospital in 2012. Dr. Martin and her husband enjoy spending time with their four dogs and four cats.

Jennifer Fulp, DVM
Originally from Statesville, NC, she attended North Carolina State University for her BS in zoology, then graduated from NC State - College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. She moved to Washington upon graduation and is really excited about helping our clients take the best care of their furry family members. Dr. Fulp has four dogs, Huckleberry, Dany, Stella, and Libby; three cats, Cappy, TJ, and Forrest; and many other little critters. In her free time she enjoys outdoor activities such as rock climbing, biking, and hiking.

Scott Wiseman, DVMScott is originally from the mountains of NC. He attended East Tennessee State University and got his BS in Biology. He then went to NC State College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in May of 2022. He is excited to to get settled in Washington and join the team at Pamlico Animal Hospital. Scott is joined by his wife Hannah, ant their dog, Schmidt, and cat, Birdie. He enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and camping, and playing the guitar.

Mariah Williams, DVMOriginally from Winterville, NC, she received her BS in Biology from East Carolina University in 2017 and received her DVM from North Carolina State University in 2022. As someone who grew up in a small town, she is very excited about her move to Washington and looks forward to providing great quality care for her patients. Dr. Williams has two dogs, Cain and Billie Ray, and she enjoys hiking and reading in her spare time.

Jamie Slater, DVM
Dr. Slater grew up in Shelby, NC and went to UNC Wilmington for undergrad. She continued onto NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated this May. Her interests lay in aquaculture and pet fish medicine (joining the farm side of the practice) but she'll also be seeing our canine and feline patients in the hospital. Outside of work she enjoys fishing, raising fish, working on her motorcycles and other building projects. Dr. Slater has a dog named Trout, a Siamese cat named Possum, another cat, Nyan, Smokie the leopard gecko, and around 40 fish.
