Marleta Poffenberger, DVM
Originally from Maryland - attended University of Maryland and Virginia – Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine – moved to Washington, N.C. upon graduation from vet school in 1985 and began her career at Pamlico Animal Hospital – has been with the practice since 1985– is married and has two sons and a daughter. "Dr. P" has too many pets to list in this space!

Inken Van Cura, DVM
Born in Germany – grew up in Connecticut – received a B.S. degree in Art Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a M.S. in Special Education from the college of New Rochelle / New York – received her DVM degree from Purdue University – at Purdue she started the student chapter of the Vet. Emergency and Critical Care Society – received the Morris Foundation award for her “recognition of the human/animal bond” -- the HSUS awarded her a certificate of appreciation for her work with displaced animals in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina - she is married and has a son and a daughter. She has 3 dogs, a ferret, and a special cockatiel named "Spot".

Amy Martin, DVM
Born and raised in Washington, North Carolina. She received her BS in Animal Science from North Carolina State University in 2005, and her DVM from Texas A&M University in 2009. After veterinary school, Dr. Martin returned to eastern North Carolina. She was an equine vet with Greenville Mobile Equine Service for three years. She joined Pamlico Animal Hospital in 2012. Dr. Martin and her husband enjoy spending time with their four dogs and two cats.

Jessica Palmer, DVM
Originally from Newark, DE- attended the University of Delaware where she received a BS in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Animal Biosciences, a BA in Ancient Greek and Roman Studies, and a minor in Philosophy. She graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. Dr. Palmer moved to Washington, NC after graduation and is excited to serve the community as a part of the Pamlico Animal Hospital team. She has two pets, Onyx and Link.

Jennifer Fulp, DVM
Originally from Statesville, NC, she attended North Carolina State University for her BS in zoology, and then graduated from NC State - College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. She moved to Washington upon graduation and is really excited about helping our clients take the best care of their furry family members. Dr. Fulp has four dogs, Simon, Huckleberry, Dany, and Stella; and one cat, Cappy. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities such as rock climbing, biking, and hiking.

Chelsea Warren, DVMOriginally from Raleigh, NC. She attended NC State for both undergrad and veterinary school, having graduated with her DVM in 2015. Upon graduation, Dr. Warren moved to California for her internship in small animal medicine, and then spent the next 5 years working at a clinic there. She recently moved back to Eastern North Carolina to come work for our growing practice. Dr. Warren is most excited about meeting new people, helping all the animals in the area, and spending time relaxing in the small-town atmosphere. She has white fluffy rescue pup from Mexico, named Joey. And she enjoys spending her time outdoors hiking, camping, and SCUBA diving.

Bonnie Eddings, Office AdministratorHas been involved in the operations of Pamlico Animal Hospital for over 25 years. She is married and has two sons, a daughter, three grandsons, and three granddaughters.
Additional StaffThe support staff for the 6 doctors includes approximately 25 full and part-time employees whose positions include receptionists, veterinary assistants, groomers, and kennel assistants.
